Valentines Day & Singles Pringles Day!

Written by Lolly

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us February 14th and it will be time to watch all the people that are loved up getting wined, dined and 69’up. They will be getting spoilt rotten with big bouquets of flowers, boxes of chocolate and for the more adventurous given sexy lingerie! And rightly so! (Give me a bucket I think I’ll get sick)!

It’s the one day of the year that single people hate on Facebook. Facebook feeds are bombed with status’s of photographs of flowers, chocolates, romantic week-ends away “Oh look what my bf got me” “Best BF ever” “Oh look what I got delivered to work” acting like they are totally surprised when religiously their bf’s/husband having been doing it for them since the dinosaurs! Be unique guys do something different!

When the reality of it is behind closed doors he/she is most likely doing the dirt, chatting the ears off each other to their best friends and telling them how much they hate the bitch. How it will be the last Valentines together until some day they are 80 and realise they are still with the same bitch in an old folks home but they can’t remember each others names! Valentines can be very false for a lot of people and all for show pretending their little lives are perfect. When they are not! But they are only fooling themselves!

For those of us who are not in a relationship it can be horrible depressing day. So I think we should have our own day on the 14th of February and call it “Single Pringle & Ready to Mingle Day” kinda puts a different spin on it but at least we can go out and separate the shit from the champagne and have a laugh while we are doing it! Plus Vodka is way cheaper than dinner for two!

Valentines Day can put a lot of unnecessary pressure on couples. Just be yourselves don’t put on anything for the public. Valentines day should not be about flowers or anything expensive. Don’t get me wrong it’s lovely to get spoilt but if you are with the right person he/she should be spoiling you all year round and the only way to spoil someone is to treat them and respect them properly on a daily basis not just for one day of the year!

I’ll do a blog closer to the 14th February on my recommendations on how to impress her by doing something totally unique on the day.

For now I’m going away to find that bucket! Ha ha
